Halloween!

We love Halloween and like to be creative with our costumes. This year I was an oven (get it?...bun in the oven?), so Aaron was a chef and Bentley was a cookie because he's already baked!

Trick-or-treating. Bentley loved going door to door to get candy! He mostly enjoyed banging his metal candy bucket on the sidewalk as we went along.

After we came home he had such a fun time playing in my oven. He loves to say, "Where'd Bentley go?" So that then we'll ask that question. Then he pops his head out and says, "There he is!". So cute!

Then after we took his costume off, he decided to eat his cookie shirt.

Halloween Party

We hosted a Halloween dinner party. Everyone had to dress up and Aaron made the menu fun so no one knew what they were getting until it was in front of them.

We had unexpected entertainment for the night because my next-door-neighbor's car engine exploded in his driveway! Our cul-de-sac was full of fire trucks and police cars! I'm just glad it wasn't a house!

For the evening, I dressed up as a skeleton (baby decided to join the festivities as well)!

Carving Pumpkins

We had such a fun time carving pumpins.

Bentley loved coloring all over his.

It's hard to see, but my pumpkin has a baby pumpkin attached to it and I drew arms holding it, so it looks pregnant. Aaron's is all hairy. And Bentley's says, "Rawrr!".

Play time

This is the normal agenda. We get home from being out and Bentley has to run and get all his sport toys out of the garage and dump them in the yard to play with them.

Pumpkin Farm

We had such a fun day at the pumpkin farm! Bentley was eating some candy, so I couldn't quite get his cute smile out since he was preoccupied!

There was a hay jump that his Aunt Miriam helped him go down. I wasn't really up for jumping.

He REALLY wanted to try going down the blow-up slide. I told him that if he could go up on his own, then he could do it. And he's an awesome climber! He had so much fun and wanted to do it over and over again! He just looks so small on such a big slide!

Taking a ride with his cousins.

Sealing

These are some of our best friends out here, the Sims. Their whole family just got sealed together a few weeks ago in the temple. It was such an awesome experience to be there with them. I can't believe that we didn't think to take pictures until after Mike and Carrie had changed out of their white clothes! It was a busy day though.

My baby is 2!!!

Bentley really loves dinosaurs and anything that says "rawrrr". So he wanted a dinosaur cake and he wanted it blue. He talked about it every day for about a week before his birthday. He had such a fun day.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for his birthday. He loves it there and honestly we like it too.

Bentley's Birthday

Our sweet boy turned 2! I can't believe it! He is so cute and fun. He loved blowing out his candles, so we lit them several times. And Bentley tried saying "Happy Birthday", but it just came out "Happy Day". So cute and you can see it here. But just a warning...this is about a 10 min long video that captures highlights of his day...request from grandmas.

Yee Haw!!

We borrowed a rider and aerator from some friends about 2 miles up the road to aerate our yard. Bentley thought the "tractor" was pretty cool.

Ok...this is where I explain my husbands ridiculous face. So his boss at work showed him a picture on day of some inventor from the 1800's that had this facial hair. He told Aaron that if he would grow it then he would buy lunch for him for a week at their work's cafeteria. Aaron said, "NO way!". Then without him knowing, his boss went around and got commitment from lots of people to be willing to buy lunch for x amount of days. Then he brought the list to Aaron and he had 3 months worth of lunches bought if he would wear these chops for that long. Before I go on, let me just say that Payless' cafeteria's food is REALLY good. And they do sell dinner meals as well. So Aaron came home and asked what I thought. I said, "Absolutely! You'll look silly, but I won't have to cook for 3 months!". So the next 3 months, here we come.

I think Aaron driving the lawn mower down the street and his chops officially make us white trash. I thought it was so funny and had to take a picture of him driving off into the sunset.

Apple Orchard

We went to the apple orchard and had a blast! Bentley LOVED eating all the apples his heart desired. When I thought I was done filling my bucket, I saw the top 5 apples each had a big bite in them!

Mission buddy

This is my old mission friend Moak. She was driving through Kansas and stopped by for a while. It was so fun to see her!

Father/Son campout

Aaron has been waiting so long for when Bentley would be old enough to take to the Father/Son campout. They had so much fun together

Here's Bentley's cute smile. Too bad you can't see it better with pacifier in the way!

So Aaron let Bentley take some pictures. But we thought it was funny because it looks like the pictures we sometimes take when we want a picture of someone in the background. I don't even know what to comment on the man in the background!

Happy Birthday Aaron!

In September Aaron turned 27 yrs. old. He loves other desserts more than cake, so I try to make something different each year. This year was "The Next Best Thing to Robert Redford".

Tyler's concert

Tyler always has the best backyard concerts.

Tyler's concert

Tyler wrote a song in French. Here it is. He's awesome

My family

Bentley had a blast jumping on the trampoline with his cousins.

Travis and Lindsay and Leoni are now living in Qatar for 3 yrs teaching English. It was fun to meet Leoni. She's a cute girl. Luckily they are able to come back home every summer for a few months.

Kalai Concert

We went to a Kalai concert. If you don't know who he is, find out. He's an awesome artist and is sooo fun live.

Here's Tyler and Kristina at the concert.

This is cousin Natalie, me, Aaron, and James.

Fence Defense Float

This is video of us driving down State Street in Orem/Lindon after the parade. You can hear Aaron's mom in the background getting really nervous!

Fence Defense float

Aaron used to own a business, Fense Defense, with his brother Matt. Matt still owns and somehow still runs the business from DC. This summer Matt built a deck float and participated in every parade possible. It was really awesome and we were able to be in one parade with them while in Utah.

After the parade, Grandpa tried to take a little rest while Bentley would hear non of that and tackled him!

Roomates

We went to Utah this summer for a trip to see everyone. While there, we always have to get together with my old roomates. Chantelle has since had a cute baby boy, whom I am excited to meet. I'm just sad that we didn't think about taking out our cameras until Suz had already left. So sorry Suz!

Angela in town!

Aaron's sister Angela drove through with their dad on her way to grad school in Boston. Ron drove her until Kansas and then had a nice, long vacation here with the grandkids! Angela's friend John flew out and drove her the rest of the way. Here we are all together.

When Aaron and Angela get together, they always have to take silly/scary pictures together. We could show you quite the collection of said pictures from our New York trip when they were alone together in a subway car.

This is the boy that flew out to help Angela drive the rest of the way to Boston. We will now refer to him as the lame boy that has since disappeared off the face of the earth.

Blogging re-birth...Summer fun #1

Some of you may have noticed that I haven't updated our blog in almost 4 months! I have several excuses for this: 1. I can NOT be on the computer when my toddler is awake. Otherwise I am battling him pushing the off button on the computer (or breaking the printer like he did yesterday). 2. We steal the internet from Aaron's brother Jon. They rearranged their family room and now their computer is across the room and our signal is weak and so I have to sit in our bathroom on the edge of the toilet to get connection. If it's a good day I can sit on my bed. Lame that we don't have our own internet, we know. But it's almost too late to get it at this point. Yes, I am currently on the toilet now, but no, not flagging the computer. 3. With a busy summer it hasn't been a priority. 4. We don't think to empty our camera very often, which = no new pictures on blog.
So there ya go. So this is summer fun #1. I didn't want to put ALL of our pictures on here at once, so I'm doing it in batches. So I'll probably get the rest up in a week or so. So sit on the edge of your seats checking the computer each day to see when that time will come!

Sippy cup time!

Yes, he loves his sippy cups! What a cute boy, if I must say so myself! I just LOVE this smile of his.

Bath time

Aaron and I were having fun during Bentley's bath time. He loves lions, dinosaurs, and anything that can say "rawwrrrr". But sometimes he does have his moments of being a little scared too.

Screen door

Here's Bentley at his finest! He was being so funny pressing his face against our screen door. Hey old roomates...does this remind you of taping our faces freshman year? Ha ha!

Swimming

What better way to be a kid than swim with your clothes on and go sloshing out in the rain?!

Tomatoe Season!

There is nothing like fresh tomatoes. This year Bentley just LOVED eating cherry tomatoes from the garden. Here he is chowing down.

Royals Game

Here we are in front of the Royals Field. Although the Royals aren't the best, they have an awesome field and it's fun to go together anyway.

Bentley LOVES animals and mascots from afar, but not so much fun up close.

Girls Camp

So this year at Girls Camp I was the lifeguard. This was the most fun way to experience camp. I came out in the afternoon in time for the girls to swim. I got sun and was able to wade in the water the whole time. Then I stayed for all the fun evening activities and went home each night to sleep in my own bed. It was awesome. Being pregnant I wasn't wanting to sleeping in a hot, humid tent anyway.

Crab legs!

Tyler and his girlfriend Kristina came to Kansas to visit us. Aaron made us all crab legs one of the nights. I absolutely LOVE crab legs! So fun and delicious!

4th of July fun!

Bentley had his first sparkler experience. Like his dad, he loves fireworks. Hopefully he'll learn to not do everything his dad does, like you'll see in this video. The fire looks worse than it was...but I must admit it does look awesome. In Kansas, there aren't any firework regulations, so it's like a war zone all around us the week of the 4th.

Science City

This is an awesome place in Kansas City. We went there when Tyler and his girlfriend Kristina (now fiance!) came to visit.
Bentley loves to play miniature golf.

Bentley is scared of the carousel, so Aaron ended up carrying him. Here's Aaron feeling silly just standing there.

Fun with cousins

Bentley and Matthew snug in a tub

No, my son doesn't push his cousin...what would make you say that?....we totally caught it on camera!

Mechanical Bull

Here's a fun show of Aaron riding a Mechanical Bull!

Train table

Bentley loves his train table!

Trip to Portland and Seattle

We had a fun, MUCH needed vacation. We saw the beach, a volcano, markets, cities, and more green than I think I've ever seen. We had fun with Aaron's cousin George, his wife Carol and their 4 boys. Thanks for helping us have a great trip! And it was so fun to see our friends Brent and Sam in Seattle. There were too many pictures to just post, so I made this little slideshow. So sorry I don't have comments on everything.

Horse Farm

Bentley LOVES horses (from afar). He loves saying, "Neigh, neigh", but wouldn't touch them with a 10 ft. pole.

Here's the mammas with the baby colts. So cute!

Just a reminder of how cute this boy is...

My amazing husband

Not only is Aaron amazing that he built us a deck, but he did it in only a month. Doesn't sound too quick? Just remember he is a busy man with a demanding job....(oh, and we play softball 3 nights out of the week too!).

Our 4th Anniversary

We went to the Melting Pot for dinner. I highly recommend it for those of you who haven't been (especially the dessert!)

We love going golfing together but hardly have the opportunity. And I only got frustrated once when we got to a lake.

We went to a Latin Festival in Kansas City. Lots of fun food!

Our Anniversary always runs into Mother's Day, so here's my Mother's Day picture with my cute son!

Art class

I teach art lessons from home to three 6-8 yr olds. It's been fun. We just had an art show so their friends and family could see their art.

I just love these still life's they made with oil pastels. It's fun to see each of their different perspectives.

Apron

This is a cute apron I made for my friend Paige and her daughter for her birthday.

Easter

Tulips

I look Bentley to the flower gardens that surround the lake by our house. I tried to get some cute pictures. It's kinda hard to do that will a toddler. But here's a few fun ones.

Cousins

Here's the 3 cousins hanging out.

Ice cream

Chug, chug, chug!

Looks like a happy, fat boy.

Cool Dude

He is just so cute.

Paige's trip

My best friend Paige and her little girl Stella came out to play with us! It was soooo much fun! This is the only picture I have of us together! We're on the fun train ride that goes around a park.

Bentley and Stella played on this toolshed NONstop! The only bad parts were when Bentley would want to switch stools and would knock Stella over (she's not quite as solid and therefore as steady as Bentley).

You always need a tub picture. We'll have this one in their wedding video!

Don't let this photo deceive you. Bentley is actually twice the size as Stella. It looks like here they're pretty even, but Bentley is about 2 feet away from Stella.

We had fun on the playgrounds.

We have an awesome zoo here in Topeka. It's small and the animals are real close. This gorilla is pretty much right up to the glass.

Bentley was OBSESSED with this little carousel at the mall. He would try to mooch off a ride if someone else was willing to pay for their kid to ride.

Balloons

Bentley had the most fun playing with my birthday balloons! He also loves to hoard balls too.

"HELLO!"...You just got hulked!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! That's all I have to say about this.

Tressa's birthday...back in March!

Yep, the big 27. I'm getting closer to 30.

Aaron made a monster of a cake for me. It was insane and good.

All Bentley

So since I haven't blogged in FOREVER, instead of posting a million different videos, I put them all in one big movie party. So here's our cute boy with all his laughs and tricks! Oh, and this is a long video to warn you (slow at times even because I didn't want to take time to edit it. And it also may seem like we never put clothes on our child. Maybe he just performs better in nothing than his diaper?...that's all my disclaimers).

Cereal dance

Yep, he is dancing on top of the Cheerios he just dumped out.

But who could get mad at such a cute face like this?

Prank time

So we're lucky enough to be involved with the youth in our ward. The draw back is being pranked. It all started when some of the young women TP-ed our mailbox (because we don't have trees yet). So I got them all back by TPing their beds one day. And these pictures are a fraction of what they did to our house to get us back! (Jon and Miriam were traitors and gave them our spare key!). So I think we're pretty much done now with the pranks.

SMILE!

I just love this picture of the two of us!

Where'd it go?

Here's the fun time we have with most meals with Bentley.

Blueberries

Bentley has found a new love...frozen blueberries! I guess that's a good thing to be obsessed with. He cried when I took him out of his chair. I'm sure I'll have an interesting diaper to change later.

My cute boy

Nothing like a little static.

Dancing King!

Here's some of Bentley's latest dance moves.

Eating Cherrios

I think his habits are from his dad's side.

Sleepy baby

This is what happens when a little boy thinks he doesn't need naps!

New Year's

We had a pretty crazy New Year's this year...with 12 yr. olds that is! Aaron and I are both 2nd Counselors in the YW/YM presidencies. It was fun though.

This is our toddler-proof tree! It totally worked!

Christmas on temple square

White Elephant exchange

River Cruise

Cecilia set up an activity for us to go on a river cruise. It was really fun, besides being freezing. We saw lots of lights and sang Christmas carols and even got an appearance from Santa on a cannoe!

Cousin fun

All the Fischer grandkids got matching PJ's

This train kept the kids entertained for a long time. Matthew honestly sat and watched it for HOURS!

Uncle Jon built this snowman for the boys. They loved looking at it through the window, so frosty had a face on the other side too!

Santa Claus is coming to town

I just LOVE seeing different peoples' reactions to Santa!

Gingerbread houses

Bentley had so much fun making his first gingerbread house. He didn't get the concept that you're supposed to leave the candy on the house.

Everyone helping with the kiddos

This is one hoarder with lots of candy in his cheeks.

And this is his look of determination!

When it rains it pours

I haven't posted in almost 2months and today I went out of control putting on posts. So for those of you who have been as bored as I have looking at Halloween pictures for 2 months, here's a whole load for you.

My new talent

I made a last minute Halloween costume for my nephew this year. He LOVES Thomas the train. Then my friends asked me to make a costume for their sons Christmas program. He needed to be a toy and wanted to be Lightning McQueen.

It all starts with diaper boxes.

He Mixes

For the Fischers...Question: "Does he mix?" Answer: "He mixes".

Doing the dishes

This is Bentley "helping" me with the dishes. He pushes the bottom drawer in so he can sit on the door. I'm learning to do dishes more when he's distracted in the other room or sleeping.

This is his triumphant stance.

Brown vs. Board

For those of you that don't know, Brown vs. Board was the case about segregation in the schools. This was the main school in the case and happens to be in Topeka, right by our house. It is an AWESOME museum to visit. We even met Linda Brown while we were there (the girl that got all the media attention during it all).

I just LOVE this picture of my two cute boys!

Funny Boy

This is a collection of 3 videos of Bentley being his funny self. The first is of him eating food from his hair. The 2nd is of him laughing at his Aunt Angela's hair. The 3rd is dancing in the bath. Enjoy!

Thanksgiving

We had ALL the Kansas family over for dessert one night. Fun and crazy as always.

Bentley loves playing inside his toy boxes

Aaron made these pies and many more. He was very proud of them. And they were sooooo GOOD!

Messy eater...just like mom

Bentley loves spoons!

Twilight party

Yep, I went ahead and was one of the many Twilight fans that saw the movie opening night. A group of us women went together. We bought our tickets weeks in advance and then stayed in line a few hours before the viewing. It was fun to be in a movie theatre with all girls (although they were mostly all teenagers). Ha ha. It was fun.

Christmas pictures

Happy holidays from the Fischers...especially our crying boy. We thought this was funny because Aaron and I are smiling nicely and someone else is not.

Here's our real picture we used this year. Thanks Erica for helping out!

Painting party

I had a painting party a few months ago where several ladies got together and I taught them how to do abstract art and let them go at it and gave them instruction along the way. This is one of the paintings (that I pretty much did most of it). It's pretty large and going above their bed.

Cousins

Hanging out in the cupboards

We kept telling Matthew to stop splashing Bentley in the face...caught in action!

Matthew's innocent face afterwards!

My cute smiling boy!

Crazy boys

Aaron and his dad went on a walk down where they were doing construction by our house. Lets just say they got a little silly. I'll leave it at that.

Ghetto derby car

The elder's quarum decided to have a derby car race for their get together. I think Aaron might have gotten an award for the least time spent on it? Those are pool balls tapped onto the car for the weight if you can't see it. But somehow he did still manage to cut his hand with a drill during the creating process.

Halloween!

We LOVE Halloween and always go all out with our costumes. Aaron and I are Olympic swimmers (Michael Phelps and Natalie Coglin). Bentley is a tornado (we wanted to play on his age and the fact that we live in Kansas).

This is our very sad, tired tornado. There are little men, pigs, cars, sheep, etc. attached to his costume.

I thought this sad face was too funny/cute.

Eating powdered donuts

Halloween party at the Nelson's

Get your feet off the table!

Lately Bentley has been eating with his feet up on his tray. I know it's a bad habit, but for now it's funny. So laugh and take pictures today, correct tomorrow.

Birthday part 2

He had a fun time with his balloons.

Opening his blocks.

We were able to turn Bentley's seat forward facing since he's a year now and he already hit the 20 lb. mark about 7 mo. ago!

He's walking!

Happy 1st Birthday!

Our sweet boy just turned 1! I can't believe it! The time has just flown by so fast. We made him a watermelon cake out of red velvet (watermelon is his favorite but you can't find it this time of year). I have to find a picture of him eating the cake. I have it somewhere. What an amazing little guy Bentley has been. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter baby. He always makes us laugh and loves laughing with us. Happy Birthday cutie!

Here he is opening presents. He got some books from daddy. He loves his reading time.

We also got him some bath foam letters. Here he is playing with them.

He got pretty good spelling with the letters! What a smart little guy!

We also got him a giraffe bike that he's still trying to figure out.

Baptism

We have become great friends with Mike and Carrie Sims and their kids and they finally got baptised! We're so excited for them. They are such an awesome family and will make a great addition to our ward.

Bentley's Kitchen

Bentley LOVES getting into my cupboards, so I gave him his own. He loves his new space and dishes.

Cousins

Bentley had so much fun with all of his cousins! They were all so nice to him and loved finding ways to make him laugh.

I love that Kennedy (7 yrs old) is just about as big as Bentley.

Bus ride

So Aaron's cousin Stellios drives a bus. We never saw it coming. So all the Xantos' came over in it and of course we all had to go for a ride. It was 11pm though and when we got back, he stopped the bus and opened the stop sign, so oncoming traffic had to wait for us all to cross the street. And some people were in pj's. So I'm sure the people waiting thought they were dropping off people at a crazy house. It was funny!

Stellios in his glory.

Clue

We played Clue and dressed as the characters with Tyler (Msr. Beutant, or something like that), his girlfriend Kristina (Mrs. White), Tyler's roomate Rob (Professor Plum), Aaron (Col. Mustard), and me (Ms. Scarlet). We had so much fun and were just plain rediculous.

Random Utah pictures

Aaron is saying, "You just got Hulked"!

While in Utah Bentley learned how to clap his hands (as he is demonstrating here), wave, climb up and down stairs, and he even took his first steps! (When he'll walk on demand is when I'll get a video of him doing it).

Aaron and Bentley sharing a twizzler.

We were able to go to Angela's mission friends, Christian and Daniella's, sealing. It was such a wonderful experience. They were so nice and AWESOME to Bentley...like and aunt and uncle.
