Bentley's Boils

I'm already apologizing for the discusting pictures. Ok, so Bentley had this terrible rash come on all of a sudden. He's had it for about a week now. It looks terrible! It looks like big, red warts all over his legs. It's only on his lower legs and a few on his forearms. The bumps are not oozing. It doesn't seem to be bothering him luckily. They're not itching him either. We took him to the doctor and they didn't know what it was. We're going again to his pediatrition on Tuesday and calling a dermatologist tomorrow. Does anyone know what this is or had it with any of their kids?! I'm getting nervous about it. Please keep Bentley in your prayers too. I don't think it's food allergies cause it's not on his main body. And the only real new food we've given him is watermelon. I don't use chemicals on the floor nor have any in his access. He hasn't been in the grass at all because of chiggars and the gross, tough grass that is in Kansas. I don't think it has to do with detergent because it's not anywhere where his clothes are. The doctor said it's not chicken pox, chiggars, heat rash. We've bathed him with anti-bacterial soap, put hydrogen peroxide on it, hydrocordizone (sp?) cream on it, and given him Benadryl. I might give him an oatmeal bath tonight. I heard it works. We're getting desperate. It's a mystery.

Tressa, Is his leg swollen besides? or is that just the angle of the camera? You say they are more like warts than blisters? If it is just the spots I'd wait until you talk to a dermatologist tomorrow. If there is swelling in his legs or anywhere else then I'd take him to the hospital now. Usually with chickenpox and measles there is a runny nose and the spots start in the groin area or torso and armpits. I think roseola also starts on the torso. I don't think it is spider bites because they are not red, and there are so many of the spots. Is watermelon the only new food he's had lately? Did you use the OFF anywhere else? I guess I'd stop the watermelon and OFF for now, until you find out what it is.

Oh, Tressa, that is so sad! And as a mother, I'm sure you're so worried. I'll keep that cute little dude in my prayers, and I hope you guys figure it out super fast. When Aaron gets home tonight, I'll ask him, too, just to see if he recognizes those bumps.

I have no idea what it is...but I've had my boys suddenly break out in really weird rashes for seemingly no reason and I've had both a nurse and a doctor tell me separately that sometimes it just happens and we never do find out the cause. Did you say you tried giving him some Benadryl? I personally would try that...if it is an allergy or related reaction, the Benadryl usually helps. And just keep an eye to make sure he doesn't develop any other symptoms..I'm sure the dermatologist will be able to help (though as a mom I know at a time like this tomorrow can't come quick enough, can it?)

Do you guys have any pets or has Bentley been around animals of late? Megan once got something similar when she was younger and we eventually found out that they were a reaction to flea bites that she got from the neighbor's cat...

Oh my gosh!! Poor thing! I know Taylen got a weird rash one time (it looked different from Bentley's) and the doctors never did figure it out, it didn't seem to bother her, and after a few days it just went away! I hope he gets better soon...
